Montgomery Place Re-Opens

Montgomery PlaceIn a major boost to local tourism that quells local rumors about the loss to the public of an historic local landmark, Historic Hudson Valley announced in early February that the grounds at its Montgomery Place site were being re-opened immediately, and the house itself would open for tours from mid-May to the end of October. Important financial pledges from several Hudson Valley philanthropists and an outpouring of support from local political and community leaders made public access once again possible. A porch party fundraiser will be held in June, and site director Raymond Armater has issued a call for community volunteers. Starting May 15, house tours will be available Thursdays through Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm.
